Angela Campbell

Executive Director of the Children's Health and Research Foundation

Angela Campbell, Ed.D, MPH, is the Executive Director of the Children’s Health & Research Foundation as well as Executive Director of the maternal, child, and family services network, Lower Hudson Valley Perinatal Network (LHVPN). She has more than 25 years of management experience in various administration roles within healthcare and education environments. She is a licensed healthcare risk manager and teacher, certified hospital administrator and industrial hygienist. As Project Manager, she executed a healthcare and education project that integrated health and education for school-aged children. They developed a marketing and communications matrix that resulted in a healthcare community-wide Healthy Heart and B’N Fit comprehensive weight loss program that resulted in decreased BMI’s by (35%). Currently, Dr. Campbell coordinates between clinical, social service, and community-based organizations to strive towards health equity in birth outcomes by improving perinatal services. Campbell’s team identifies women who are at risk for delayed prenatal care, poor birth outcomes, and connects these women with the resources that best suit their needs. The goal is to decrease incidence of preterm births/low birthweight births, while increasing rates of early prenatal care. Campbell and her team offer a maternal and infant community health collaborative, “Its About You”, a home visiting program that links underserved women and families to providers of health, social, and community services within their communities. Additionally, they offer an evidence-based program supporting families “right from the start” to promote optimal prenatal care and improve maternal and child health development. Campbell aims to support parent-child bonding and family relationships while promoting child development and safety. They link pregnant women to the resources and services they need for self- sufficiency. Additionally, Campbell and her team offer pregnant and breastfeeding mothers one-on-one support from trained lactation breastfeeding specialist, and they also provide evidence based teen pregnancy prevention education and support in Rockland County. Dr. Campbell believes that when this society addresses the structural racist institutions that lead to poor education, poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, teen pregnancy, substance abuse, environmental stressors, and absence of consistent preventative primary care, then there will be a reduction of maternal mortality death rates for black women in New York State.
